Who the pilot is for
The pilot is for owners of small service businesses that run on a website inquiry form and an email account: a painting company, a photographer, a small trade. You do not need a CRM, a calendar tool or an accounting connection, and you do not have to connect your mailbox. If your recurring work is answering inquiries, quoting after a visit, invoicing an accepted job, or chasing what has gone quiet, you are the kind of owner we are looking for.
What happens after you write to us
Your request goes to a person and we reply by email. There is no waiting list to climb. The demo is not a canned walkthrough on someone else's data: by the fourth step below, you are reading what Charter would have written for inquiries you answered yourself.
- A short conversation about the work you want carried forward: the inquiries you answer, the quotes you write after a visit, the invoices that follow, the ones that go quiet. We tell you plainly whether Charter fits.
- Four answers: where you work, what you do, how customers book time with you, and an optional ballpark rate. There is no workflow to draw and no model account to open. Charter supplies the model, metered in credits.
- Email, your way. Connect a Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox, or point your website form at an address Charter gives you and connect nothing at all.
- A replay on your own recent inquiries. Charter shows what it would have written for each one, beside the original. No customer hears from Charter, and nothing is switched on yet.
- You turn on one switch, and every external send starts in review. Charter emails you the exact draft: reply YES to send it, NO to drop it, or send back a corrected version. With a mailbox connected Charter sends what you approved; without one, the approved draft comes back for you to send.
What we will not do
- Invent prices, availability, or commitments. If a fact is missing, the draft says so and waits for you.
- Contact a customer without review. Sends default to review. If you later permit an exact action, it covers only that step, that connection, and that exact input. Anything different, including a changed recipient or attachment, goes back to review, and editing the step clears the permission.
- Treat customer-supplied content as permission. An inquiry that contains instructions is information, never authority to change what Charter may do.
- Use a connected account beyond the workflow's rules. Connecting an inbox grants nothing on its own. The workflow you reviewed does.
Costs and terms
Pilot terms, including any fees, are agreed in writing before work starts. There is no public pricing and no self-serve plan during the pilot. Charter supplies the model and meters it in credits against your allowance; per-run caps on steps, model calls, tool calls and spend still apply, and every run keeps a record of what it read, what it prepared, who approved it, and what the provider confirmed.
Before you write
If you would like to see a run in detail first, read how it works. The docs cover the workflow guide, connections, and the capabilities reference, including what Charter does not do yet.
